We are currently seeking a Portfolio Manager for Africa and Latin America. Please see the position description below.
ABOUT THE FOREST CONSERVATION FUND
FCF is a not-for-profit foundation which connects commodity buyers and other donors to tropical forest conservation projects in their sourcing landscapes.
Together with communities and the private sector, we identify forests that are at risk of deforestation and channel funding to support conservation activities. We are headquartered in Switzerland and governed by an independent Board of Directors and an expert Grants Committee responsible for approving projects based on strict quality requirements.
FCF disperses funding based on field results and provides coaching and support on conservation management to ensure that the forest stays standing and that mutually-agreed conservation goals are being achieved. We report back to donors about how their donation is being used and use satellite imagery, field-based biodiversity monitoring tools, and activity reports to monitor quality.
Since launching in June 2020, the FCF has sent over $1.3 million to conservation projects in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Our current portfolio includes 11 projects in five countries, covering over 80,000 hectares of forest.
We are seeking a team member to manage and recruit Grantees protecting tropical rainforests in Africa and Latin America. You will be part of an innovative, rapidly growing organisation working with Indigenous People and local communities to protect rainforests in threatened landscapes.
